Our Mission
At Karama, we believe that the people affected by crises are the best at helping each other. Our mission is to support these local, community-led responses—known as mutual aid—because they are more dignified, effective, and rooted in culture and care.
We work to shift the focus of humanitarian aid away from distant, one-size-fits-all solutions and towards locally driven efforts that save lives and reduces suffering. We do this by listening to communities, supporting their work directly, and helping remove the barriers they face.
